The Diakoniegemeinschaft Stephansstift e.V. is committed to the tradition of the brotherhood of the Stephansstift and sees itself as a diaconal community . She is committed to a diaconal church in our society.
tasks
In addition to various social professions, this originally includes deacons who shape the church and its diaconal profile in community with other full-time and voluntary workers. - The Diakoniegemeinschaft Stephansstift has committed itself to the following tasks according to the statutes
- Standing up for needy and damaged people and groups in society;
- Promotion of the facilities necessary for this purpose;
- Expansion of the office of deacons;
- Realization of a Christian way of life;
- mutual advice and help among each other.
Within the scope of these tasks, the Diakoniegemeinschaft promotes the profession of deacon in the Evangelical Lutheran. Church and Diakonie. The fellowship with one another is an offer to support one another privately and professionally on the way as a Christian.
Members
The Diakoniegemeinschaft Stephansstift consists of around 600 members who are divided into various regional conventions. In addition to the conventions, there is the board of directors, the committees and working groups. The conventions meet once a year or monthly, depending on the agreement, most of them about every three months. The convents should promote the community of the members among themselves and serve the exchange of experiences. They promote the common spiritual life and form an important basis of the community. The committees and working groups are devoted to a wide variety of content-related topics such as professional policy, diaconal theology, socio-political issues and public relations.
