The Diana Am Wildpark residential complex in the Gonsenheim district of Mainz is the largest in Rhineland-Palatinate with its 23 floors. It is also called Elsa - after the Elsa-Brandström-Strasse that runs through it . Between 1200 and 1500 people live here in 612 residential units.

history

In 1972/73, housing in Mainz was increasingly relocated to the outskirts, including Gonsenheim. The high-rise buildings were also built on and around Elsa-Brändström-Straße, to which Elsa also belongs. Around 6,000 people from 80 nations live in the complex today.

Infrastructure

The infrastructure includes a kiosk, pharmacy, parcel dispatch station (Hermes), tailoring including cleaning, beauty salon, kebab shop, fruit and vegetable shop and a food discounter Treff 3000 (formerly a beverage store, previously REWE retail). The Gonsenheim junction of the A 643 passes near the building. Diana is connected to the Mainz and Wiesbaden bus network with lines 62 and 6 of the Mainzer Verkehrsgesellschaft .
