The Dictionary of Greek and Roman Antiquities ( Dictionary of Greek and Roman antiquities ) of William Smith is an English Encyclopedia of classical antiquity. The reference work was published in 1842 with many other new editions. It covers topics such as law, religion, architecture, wars and everyday life.

It can be compared to other encyclopedias in French, German and Italian at the same time, such as: B. the Dictionnaire des Antiquités grecques et romaines by Charles Victor Daremberg and Edmond Saglio , the Realencyclopadie of classical antiquity by August Friedrich Pauly and Georg Wissowa and the Dizionario epigrafico di antichità romane by Ettore De Ruggiero .
