Didactics on the net

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The didactics in the net deals with the theory of teaching with the help of smaller computer networks . The networked computer equipment is used to impart and train a wide variety of skills in different subjects. Since the didactics on the net is a very young concept, the terms are not yet clearly defined and delimited from one another. You will therefore also find terms such as multimedia teaching , didactic or educational network .

Online didactics , which rely on the use of the Internet , go even further in the use of computers . This enables access to specially provided content as well as the use of online work platforms (eGroupware, online storage space ...) in a simple manner.

requirement

Networked computer rooms should be equipped with special software so that the advantages of computer networking can be optimally used in lessons . So-called classroom management software makes it possible, for example, to monitor student activities on the computer, to transmit screens for presentations ( desktop sharing or screen transfer ), to help students via remote control to block or enable access to the Internet and to simplify the handling of teacher and student files (file management). This can significantly improve the motivation and attention of the class and thus the learning success .

In addition, there is a wide variety of software that serves to simplify the administration of the school network . The main differences of such software are in the price and in the usability. The latter is decisive for the extent to which the software is actually used by the teachers in the classroom.

Practical example

In a first step, a teacher can use the demo function to make their screen content visible to the whole class and at the same time lock the keyboard and mouse of the student PCs. This means that the full attention of the student body is focused on the presentation. With the help of a presentation and visualization tool, the teacher can guide you through the presentation. Then the students can independently try to apply what has been shown. The teacher can follow the progress of the class on their screen and intervene remotely if problems arise. When a student has found a particularly interesting solution, a student computer screen can be shown to the whole class. The student therefore acts as a virtual teacher. In order to get the attention of the students, the student screens can be darkened and thus the student computers can be locked.

During the practice phase, the teacher can allow individual students or the entire class to access the Internet. After completing the exercise phase, the teacher can distribute worksheets to all or individual places via the network. The files can be collected automatically.
