Die-in in England in protest against war

Die-in (dt. Roughly dying together ) is a form of non-violent resistance . In response to a signal, demonstrators suddenly lay down on the ground as if dead, in order to point out a certain political issue that they consider life-threatening or inhuman. Analogous to the sit-in , it has its origin in the student movement of 1968. In the course of the protests against the neutron bomb and the NATO double resolution , Petra Kelly introduced this form of action in West Germany around 1980. The action symbolized above all the alleged effect of the neutron bomb to kill all people and animals, but to leave the houses and weapons undamaged. Nowadays the actions are carried out for various political reasons or occasions.

According to the criteria of the Flash and Smart Mobs is die in a special form of Flash or Smart Mobs; however, these terms emerged later. In one of the reports from 2009, in addition to the term “Stör -fall-Mob”, “Flashmob” is used.
