Praxis Community Pedagogy is a specialist journal for community pedagogical practice and theory that is published by the Evangelical Publishing House.

First volume "The Christian Doctrine

history

The periodical first appeared in April 1948 under the title Die Christenlehre. Journal for the catechetical office . It was published by the Evangelische Verlagsanstalt GmbH , under license No. 415 of the Soviet Military Administration in Germany. It was later subtitled the Journal of the Catechetical Ministry . The magazine was founded and edited. a. by the theologian and publicist Herwig Hafa , who wrote about the necessity of the confessionally bound specialist journal:

She wants to serve the instruction of the youth of the Christian community and therefore addresses all forces in our church who serve this task, catechists, but also pastors and other parishioners who devote themselves to this task full-time and part-time .

From January 1953, all Protestant kindergartens in the GDR received the magazine free of charge because, as Hafa announced at the 5th meeting of the Working Group for Protestant Child Care , it will in future be introducing the heading 'The Church's Nursery' in every issue . In this section only material for the work of the kindergarten teacher should be printed .

From 1996 to 2004 the magazine was called Christenlehre, Religionsunterricht, Praxis , followed by Praxis , Congregational Education. Journal for Protestant educational work .
