The Marriage of Mr. Stäudl is a novella by Ferdinand von Saar , which was first published in two passages in the magazine Die Zeit on May 10 and 17, 1902, and then again in the 2nd edition of the Camera obscura collection in 1904.

From the retrospective of Stäudl, who testified before the examining magistrate, the life story of a gardener marked by pride and misogyny is developed in his words, who after several failed attempts to find a wife, finally marries a beautiful widow, is betrayed by her and the woman then strangled.
