The magazine Die Internationale appeared from 1948 as a magazine of the German section of the Fourth International , with a new series with a new year count being published several times.

The first series with 1st year 1948 appeared as a magazine of the International Communists of Germany , German section of the Fourth International.

The second series, reprinted in 1956, was published with the subtitle Theoretical Organ of Revolutionary Marxism as an organ of the International Secretariat of the Fourth International and with an editorial address in Vienna, Austria.

In 1968 a new series was published, with an editorial address in Mannheim, from the 2nd year (1969) as the "Organ of the International Marxists Group , German Section of the Fourth International". The Austrian section of the Fourth International, the Revolutionary Marxists Group, was co-editor. Occasionally the previous year census was performed in parallel, so that in 1971 “Jhg. 4 (Jhg. 16), "times" Jhg. 16 (Vol. 4) ”was on the title page. In the 1980s, issues were simply counted without a year number.

From 1986 to 2017 it was continued as a supplement to Inprekorr magazine . "Inprekorr" has been appearing as a supplement to the "Internationale" since January 2017.
