The jovials

Die Joviale is a waltz by Johann Strauss Sohn (op. 34). The work was performed for the first time on November 25, 1846 in Zum Goldenen Strauss in Vienna's Josefstadt.

Remarks

The waltz was composed for a ball on the occasion of the celebration of the Catherine Ball. Jovial is an expression for cheerful or cheerful and these terms also define the character of the piece of music. The playing time on the CD listed under individual records is 10 minutes and 14 seconds. Depending on the musical conception of the conductor, this time can change by up to a minute plus or minus.
