The matufflis

The Matufflis are cartoon characters who live on the imaginary planet Knolle. The brothers Thomas Schmitt and Ulrich Sturm are the authors and drawers of the comic , the first series of which was created in 1970 as a present for their parents and first appeared in a revised version in 1976. All series were in the GDR - magazine NBI published last 1988. The Matufflis be among the highlights of the East German Funnies counted.

Something's going on on the tuber

(23 episodes NBI 1-23 / 1976)

The evil Dra-Dra kidnaps Matufflis again and again in order to assign them to forced labor, a Matuffli decides to change this, but is almost caught himself and flees. While on the run, he meets new friends who have to prevail against Linda Lindwurm. With the new friends you go together against the evil Dra-Dra.

Kneading rush on the tuber

(17 episodes NBI 14-30 / 1982)

An old Matuffli tells of a huge treasure, plasticine. All Matufflis set out to get their share of the treasure, the way is long and so a lot happens on the way there and back.

Mutiny on the Turnip

(15 episodes NBI 23-37 / 1983)

The tuber receives a visit from a neighboring planet, the turnip. The visitors, the Marottis, kidnap a matuffli to help them. Their electronic servants, the Rollobis, no longer serve them, but dominate them, this must be changed.

The big game

Emphasis

The first 2 stories were redrawn in the 1990s and published in 2 thin hardcover books.

In October 2006 appeared as Volume 4 of the series classic of the GDR comic strip a complete reprint of the notice and all 22 episodes of the magazine Comics on the tuber is something going on from the NBI 1976 and all 17 episodes of clay noise on the tuber from 1982, with a new cover picture and several editorial contributions. A second volume followed later with the rest of the Matuffli stories and the calendar ( classics of GDR picture history , volume 11).

In 2011, the original version, originally drawn only for the parents, was released in its unpolished and politically incorrect form, with figures that did not make it into the later versions (such as the Matufflifresser and the Matufflitarzan), and dialects that fell victim to censorship were.
