The Stalin organ is the first work by the German writer Gert Ledig . The book is a realistic anti-war novel. The novel is about the fighting on the Eastern Front near Leningrad . 48 hours of positional combat from the perspective of the German and Russian battalions .

The novel was published by Claassen Verlag in 1955 and became an international success. In 2000 it was published again by Suhrkamp Verlag .
