The insurance detectives - On the trail of the truth is a documentary series that has been broadcast on RTL Television since 2008 . Insurance fraud is discussed in the program . According to Mediengruppe RTL, the broadcast is 100% genuine. They are real cases, real insurance customers, and real claims investigators. The latter are called "insurance detectives" here. The 10th season was shown in 2019.

So far 64 episodes in 10 seasons have been published by RTL. The insurance detectives were broadcast for the first time in 2008 in 30 minutes in Germany on RTL. The broadcast of the 10th season started on July 21 and ended on September 15, 2019 on RTL.

There have also been errors in content. With the methods shown, the broadcaster could help its viewers with insurance fraud. The wrong messages are being conveyed. In addition, there is a risk that people will be incorrectly judged based on the content shown.
