The Ensemble Die Vier EvangCellisten is a violoncello quartet that was founded in Weimar in October 2008 . Its members (Markus Jung, Lukas Dihle, Mathias Beyer and Hanno Riehmann) work in various orchestras and theaters in Germany and were all students at the Weimar University of Music . The name of the quartet alludes to the fact that the first names of the four cellists are similar to those of the four evangelists (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John).
