The contemporary font

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

“The contemporary typeface - study books for typeface and design. Magazine for Lettering, Design and Script ”was a quarterly design magazine published by Heintze & Blanckertz in Berlin and Leipzig . The editors were Franz Leberecht and Paul Heinrich Richter .

After the Rudolf Blanckertz Writing Museum was founded in 1926, Rudolf Blanckertz decided to create a platform for contemporary design and founded the magazine in 1928 as one of the very first design magazines. This was mainly dedicated to the traditional currents with the publication of works by Rudolf Koch or Friedrich Heinrichsen , but occasionally modernists such as Paul Renner , Edward Johnston and Hermann Zapf also wrote for the magazine . The magazine was discontinued with the number 64 in 1943 due to the war and was not continued after 1945, only a few monographs were published.
