Service (seafaring)

In the shipping industry , a service is understood to be a specific route that is operated by ships of the shipping company or consortium partners and on which transports are offered. For example, the route “From Asia via New Zealand to Australia ” is a possible service. Customers can book free parking spaces for sections of the service in order to transport goods (usually in containers ).

The term liner service is specifically used for regular service .
