Dietrich Luf III. von Kleve († before November 10, 1332 ) was the eldest son of Dietrich Luf II. von Kleve , Count von Hülchrath and Lord of Kervenheim and Oedt .

Life

Dietrich Luf III. was born before 1285 as a child from the first marriage of Dietrichs Luf II. In his first marriage he was married to a Jolanta, in 1323 he married Mathilde von Voorne. The only daughter Elisabeth († 1347) comes from the marriage with Jolanta. Like his father, Dietrich Luf III joined. closely to the Archbishop of Cologne and pursued a policy against his cousin Count Dietrich VII./IX. from Kleve . In 1314 Dietrich Luf sold Hülchrath to the Archbishop of Cologne, Heinrich II. Von Virneburg , which was lost to the county of Kleve . The transfer of Hülchrath to Cologne was completed with the full payment of the purchase price in 1331. Since 1323 Dietrich Luf had given up the title of Count von Hülchrath and called himself only Herr von Kervenheim und Oedt. Dietrich Luf died shortly before November 10, 1332.
