Digital Economy and Society Index

The Digital Economy and Society Index (German: Index for the digital economy and society DESI) shows the general performance of Europe in the field of digitization and the progress of the EU member states in terms of digital competitiveness.

With the index, the EU records and evaluates the current status in the areas of network coverage , digital skills, Internet use, the degree of digitization of the economy and electronic government services.

Germany ranks 12th among the 28 member states in the European Commission's 2019 index for the digital economy and society (DESI).
