Digital line unit

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Digital Line Unit ( DLU ) is a component for connecting analog and ISDN subscribers to the digital electronic dialing system EWSD . Similar to a remote peripheral unit (APE), this itself can only perform switching functions close to the subscriber and must be connected to a switching center. It has its own electronic control, which is available twice for safety reasons and also for load sharing. It is connected to the exchange with two or four primary multiplex lines via the Line Trunk Group (LTG) component . The LTG controls the DLU via the company's own network protocol V93. Components of the access network that can be connected to an LTG as an alternative to a DLU are connected to the LTG via the V5 interface .
