Dilling (ethnicity)

The Dilling live in the province of South Kurdufan in the Nuba Mountains on the border between the north and south of Sudan in the area around the town of ad-Dilling . They belong to the ethnic groups that are grouped under the name " Nuba ".

In 1984 their population was 5295. The dillings are predominantly arabized. Their Nilo-Saharan language is also called the dilling , with many dillings using the Arabic language today.

A well-known musician from Dilling is Abdel Gadir Salim .
