The volleyball Department of Dinamo Bucharest was founded in 1949 and is one of the most successful volleyball clubs in Romania.

Volleyball men

The men have been playing in the highest Romanian volleyball league since 1949 and were Romanian champions 19 times between 1953 and 1995. There were also three titles in the European Cup Winners 'Cup (1966, 1967 and 1981) and one title in the European Cup Winners' Cup (1979). In 2011 they became the Romanian Cup winner. In 2012/13 the men competed in the CEV Cup .

Volleyball women

The women have been playing in the highest Romanian volleyball league since 1954 and were Romanian champions 21 times between 1957 and 1989. 2010 and 2012 one was the Romanian Cup winner. In 2012/13 the women competed in the Champions League .
