The Diplom-HTL-Ingenieur (abbreviated: Dipl.-HTL-Ing. ) Or Diplom-HLFL-Ingenieur (abbreviated: Dipl.-HLFL-Ing. ) Became a state name in Austria under certain conditions for graduates of higher technical or country - and forestry educational establishments ( HTL or HLFL engineers with an additional examination), although this is not an academic degree and therefore the entry requirements for (further) regular courses (e.g. master’s courses) are not met.

2nd section

§ 14.  The designations "Diplom-HTL-Ingenieur" and "Diplom-HLFL-Ingenieur" may be used in accordance with the following provisions.

Emergence

The designations of Diplom-HTL-Ingenieur or Diplom-HLFL-Ingenieur (short name Dipl.-HTL-Ing./Dipl.-HLFL-Ing.) Abolition of the designation

Since January 1, 2007, HTL graduates with professional experience have been given the status of "engineer" or "engineer". Admission to the final examination before a committee to obtain the designation “Diplom-HTL-Ingenieur” and “Diplom-HLFL-Ingenieur” can no longer be applied for. However, degrees that have already been awarded remain valid.
