Direct call

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

With direct call is in communications technology making a communication link to a specified remote station for transmitting digital messages without entering a destination information such as a phone number called. This is a dedicated line as a switching service feature . The connection is switched by an exchange in a communications network.

The West German direct call network and its fee schedule were legally regulated for the Deutsche Bundespost in 1974. In addition to a basic and installation fee, the fees were based on the bandwidth of the line (50 - 48,000 bit / s) and distance (kilometers) It was controversial because of competition concerns ( terminal monopoly , network monopoly ), but was confirmed by the Federal Constitutional Court in 1977 as compatible with the Basic Law.
