Dirty pair
Dirty Pair ( Japanese ダーティペア Dati Pea ) is a light novel series by Haruka Takachiho of Studio Nue , as Anime - TV series , OVA and manga was adapted. The series won the Animage Anime Grand Prix Prize in 1985 .

In the year 2138, mankind colonized thousands of solar systems . A company called World Welfare Works Association (German about: world welfare work connection , WWWA) helps members of the United Galactica (UG) - Federation fee with various planet-wide problems coping. To do this, she sends agents called anger advisors to the planets . Probably the most professional part of the company is the criminal investigation section, which solves crimes and mysterious incidents.
Two anger advisors on Team 234, Kei and Yuri , have a reputation for creating a swath of devastation after their work is done, which is why they are commonly known as "dirty pairs". Her code name is Lovely Angels . The WWWA central computer holds them responsible for every possible crime, even if the damage done is never really their fault.
Characters
The Lovely Angels
- Kei is a hot-headed woman with red hair and tanned skin who wears a silver and white uniform. She prefers heavy guns and shoots before asking. As the more aggressive of the two, she is also the larger-breasted of the couple and feels drawn to masculine men.
- Yuri is of Japanese origin and wears a golden yellow uniform. She does not use firearms, but for example energy whips. Although she is the more feminine of the couple, Yuri can sometimes become extremely violent when provoked. She is also very down to earth.
Supporting characters
- Mughi is a so-called Coeurl , a large cat-like creature created through genetic engineering who sometimes accompanies the Dirty Pair on their missions. He has experience in handling electronic devices, but mostly takes a passive role. In the anime, Mughi is portrayed more as a cat or a small pet, unlike his more menacing form in the novels. In the OVA he was led by Dr. Q create.
- Nammo is a little robot owned by the dirty pair . Usually addressed as female, Nammo communicates via beeps and whistles and has a gripper arm. She has the skills to fly in space, to control and repair vehicles and to shoot with handguns.
- Gooley Andrew Frances is Keis and Yuri's direct supervisor. His job is to assign the instructions to the Lovely Angels as well as to write the paperwork related to the damage they are causing. While they cause him a lot of suffering, he always takes good care of them and trusts their abilities. In return, Kei and Yuri are loyal to him, even if that means disobeying orders in order to save him.
Light novel
The light novels are written by Haruka Takachiho , with illustrations by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko. The first four books were first printed from 1979 in the Japanese publications of SF Magajin and later combined into books. Dirty Pair no Daigyakuten won the 1986 Seiun Prize . The English translations are from DH Press ( Dark Horse ), the first book was published in September 2007, the second in March 2008.

In 1985, from the animation studio Nippon Sunrise one for Light Novel Anime - television series produced. Directed by Norio Kashima and Toshifumi Takizawa, the character design was created by Fujihiko Hosono and Tsukasa Dokite. The 24 episodes aired July 15 through December 26, 1985 on the Bandai Channel in Japan. The video release was followed by two more episodes (sometimes referred to as With Love from the Lovely Angels ) on January 1, 1987 .
The music for the series was composed by Toshiyuki Kimori. As preload title of the series was used Ru-Ru-Ru Russian Roulette ( ロ·ロ·ロ·ロシアン·ルーレット , ro-ro-ro Roshian Rūretto , " Russian Roulette ") and as a closing titles Space Fantasy (
The series was broadcast in French on FR3 and Mangas and in Italian on Odeon TV.
OVA
After the television series, Sunrise produced several OVAs .
The first OVA Dirty Pair affair Nolandia ( ダ ー テ ィ ペ ア の 大 勝負 ノ ー ラ ン デ ィ ア の 謎 , Dāti Pea no Ōshōbu: Nōrandia no Nazo ) was released on VHS on December 20, 1985 and on Laser Disc and VHD on May 21, 1986 . In Germany this was released with a German dubbing and subtitles on December 15, 2006 by Anime House .
From 1987 to 1988, the ten-part OVA series Dirty Pair followed. Each episode was published separately between December 21, 1987 and April 21, 1988, with two episodes each forming a chapter.
On January 25, 1990, the last OVA Dirty Pair conspiracy about flight 005 appeared ( ダ ー テ ィ ペ ア 謀略 の 005 便 , Dāti Pea: Bōryaku no 005-bin ). This was released in German dubbed and subtitled on October 30, 2006 by Anime House.
Movie
On November 28, 1986, the 80-minute film Dirty Pair - Project EDEN ( ダ ー テ ィ ペ ア , Dāti Pea ) was shown in Japanese cinemas. This was also published in German on August 28, 2006 by Anime House.

From 1989 to 2002, nine volumes of Dirty Pair comics were published by Dark Horse Comics in the United States . They are in the manga style and were drawn by Adam Warren . Author was Toren Smith . Two volumes of this were published in German in 1996 and 1998 by Schreiber & Leser .
radio play
In 2006, a radio play series on Dirty Pair entitled Lovely Angel: Kei & Yuri was published in Japan . This was initially broadcast on FM Osaka's program and was later available on the Internet. A second series followed in 2007.
Dirty Pair Flash
From 1994 to 1996 a reinterpretation of the story appeared under the title Dirty Pair Flash . This takes place in an alternative universe and plays with alternative versions of the two protagonists Kei and Yuri, different character design and different plot.
This OVA series consists of three seasons: Dirty Pair Flash with 6 episodes, Dirty Pair Flash 2 with 5 episodes and Dirty Pair Flash 3 with 5 episodes.
The author Haruka Takachiho, with the illustrations by Rulia046, also created various light novels for these. The first volume Dirty Pair Flash 1: Tenshi no Yūutsu ( ダ ー テ ィ ペ ア FLASH1 天使 の 憂鬱 ; ISBN 4-15-207893-6 ) was published in December 1994 and the second Dirty Pair Flash 2: Tenshi no Hohoemi ( ダ ー テ ィ ペ ア FLASH2 天使 の 微笑 ; ISBN 4-15-208061-2 ) in January 1997, each from the publisher Hayakawa Shōbo.
Both volumes were republished in May ( ISBN 4-15-030614-1 ) and July 1999 ( ISBN 4-15-030619-2 ) in Bunkobon format under the imprint Hayakawa Bunko by the same publisher, with the Third volume Dirty Pair Flash 3: Tenshi no Itazura ( ダ ー テ ィ ペ ア FLASH3 天使 の 悪 戯 ; ISBN 4-15-030625-7 ) followed.
