Discovery Channel Telescope
Coordinates: 34 ° 44 ′ 40 ″ N , 111 ° 25 ′ 20 ″ W The Discovery Channel Telescope (DCT) is a large optical telescope operatedby the Lowell Observatory and the Discovery Channel .
Construction of the DCT at a location near Happy Jack, Arizona was completed in February 2012, and in April 2012 it saw 'first light'. The DCT is an altazimuthal mounted telescope with a 4.3 m (170 inch) primary mirror diameter. It is specially designed for observations with a large field of view.
