Dlamini III.

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dlamini III. (also: Hlubi ) is the last of the old tribal princes ( tiNgwenyama ) of the Swazi , who led his people from around 1720 to 1744. He was the father of Ngwane III. , the first king of modern Swaziland . Hlubi is considered to be the link between the Swazi settlements in Delagoa Bay and today's kingdom. He settled his followers near the Pongola , where it breaks through the Lebombo Mountains . The early Swazi migrated together with the Ndwandwe , to whom they were closely related.

Dlamini's successor was Ngwane III. , his son whom he had with Queen LaYaka Ndwandwe .
