The Document Control Center , or DCC for short , is software for the business-relevant areas of a company.

Document planning and control

The Document Control Center is an extension of the SAP DMS based on SAP ERP and SAP NetWeaver . The following processes can be supported on the basis of the DCC:

  • Document structuring based on templates and specific uses
  • Planning and scheduling based on virtual documents
  • Automatic document generation and classification
  • Integration into the desktop
  • Generation of context-related document numbers
  • Procurement (purchase) of documents
  • Automated deadline tracking through event chains and event management
  • Evaluation and reporting
  • Global document filing and archiving electronic archiving .

Document supply chain

The following applies to mapping the complex life cycle of a document:

  • Integrated document planning and control is more than just document management.
  • Every document has its own life cycle.
    • Pre-planning
    • Termination
    • Procurement strategy (creation internally or externally)
    • Archiving and securing of all legal handling requirements (digital signatures, storage, ...)
  • Planning and tracking the supply chain for documents is just as important as the supply chain for materials.
  • The supply chain for documents must be able to be defined and controlled independently of the supply chain for materials.
  • Due to the large number of documents, it makes sense to automate as many process steps as possible.
  • Document flow and material flow must be synchronized.
