El Moreco dolmen

The Dolmen of El Moreco (also called Dolmen del Moreco o Huidobro ) is located in Hoya de Huidobro in the "Parque Natural de las Hoces del Alto Ebro y Rudrón" near Burgos in Castile-León in Spain .

The megalithic complex is located in a hill about 27.0 m in diameter and 2.0 m high and consists of a round chamber made of 10 up to 2.0 m high limestone slabs and the long corridor, the side stones of which have gotten into disarray. Two ceiling panels have been preserved above the end of the corridor, while those of the chamber are missing. Of the chamber's orthostats , two have red paintings depicting human figures.

Because of looting, only a few skeletal remains and grave goods were found. Thanks to the discovery of a burnt oak tree at the base of the monument, it was possible to date the complex to the end Neolithic by carbon-14 analysis .

To the west is the Dolmen de La Cabaña and south of the Dolmen of Las Arnillas, both of which are very similar to El Moreco.
