Don i tison (from Bafia : "city mountain") is the southernmost peak of a mountain range in Cameroon west of the city of Bafia . It is located not far from the village of Gouife .
Its name - in the sense of "inhabited mountain" - probably comes from the fact that a military post was set up here from March 1911 to September 1912 as part of the Bafia expedition to subjugate the surrounding population. Structural remains from this time, in particular a surrounding wall made of roughly hewn stones, have been preserved.
From November 6 to December 15, 1914, the place served the ethnologist Günther Tessmann as a starting point for his research on Bafia.
The ascent of the summit is a regular part of the biennial Mbam'art festival.
