Comparison of double rib (above) with fine rib

Double rib is a two-surface knitted fabric that is produced on round or double knitting machines. It has two or more left wales, alternating with the right wales, creating a space between the ribs. The “raised ribs” are the right wales.

The distance between the ribs, which is larger than that of fine rib , results in a coarser mesh structure.

Because of its extremely high elasticity, double rib is used, for example, in the production of underwear .
