The Dopravní podnik měst Chomutova a Jirkova as short DPCHJ , the transport authority of the Czech towns Chomutov and Jirkov . They operate 11 trolleybuses and 13 bus routes .

The company emerged on January 1st, 1991 from the former national transport company ČSAD . The company has been operating trolleybus routes in both cities since July 1st, 1995. The company has been a joint stock company since April 1, 1996, with 75% held by the city of Chomutov and 25% by the city of Jirkov.

Today's trolleybus operation was the result of an initiative by the two cities to set up an express tram between the two municipalities. For this purpose, one route was kept free for the tram on each of the two major connecting roads. When the costs were determined in 1990, a tram was classified as too expensive, so the planning for the trolleybus began. Construction of the trolleybus network began on September 7, 1992. The first vehicles were delivered on July 23, 1994 by the Škoda company .

Trial operation began on June 29, 1995. From August 31, 1998, after the second part of the network went into operation, the companies had 25 kilometers of trolleybus routes. In 2002 a further, partly privately financed section went into operation.
