Dorothee Wieser

Dorothee Wieser (* 1975 ) is a German didactic specialist . She has held the chair for the latest German literature and didactics of German language and literature at the TU Dresden since 2014 and has also been director of the Institute for German Studies since 2015.

biography

Between 1994 and 2000 Wieser studied German and biology in Jena, Urbino and Göttingen and did his legal clerkship between 2001 and 2003. Between 2003 and 2011 she worked as a research assistant in the subject didactics of German at the TU Berlin and received her doctorate from Heidi Rösch with a thesis on the ideas and orientations of German trainees in the field of literature teaching.

Between 2011 and 2014 she was visiting professor at the HU Berlin (substitute for the professorship for modern German literature / German didactics).

Since April 2014 she has been a professor at the TU Dresden and holder of the professorship for the latest German literature and didactics of German language and literature. Since October 2015 she has also been director of the Institute for German Studies at the TU Dresden.

Research areas

Wieser's research areas include methodology, empirical teaching / cognitive research, the theory of literature and literature mediation, basic questions of text analysis and text reception, the development of text competence as well as literary history and its communication.

Prices

In 2012, Wieser received the German Didactics Award from the German Didactics Symposium and the Award for Good Teaching from the Philosophical Faculty II of the Humboldt University in Berlin (together with Kristin Schulz).
