The Dorper Tunnel, also known as the Dorp Tunnel, is a 488 m long railway tunnel in the urban area of Wuppertal . It is located on the Düsseldorf-Derendorf-Dortmund Süd railway line, which was opened in 1879 and has since been closed , in the urban area called "Wuppertaler Nordbahn", between the Wuppertal-Dorp stop and the Ottenbrucher train station and is crossed by the 46 federal motorway .
The tunnel is occasionally used in summer for screenings of movies . The tunnel is curved over the entire route. The tracks and signal systems have since been removed. The tunnel offers a very interesting backdrop for photographers. The tunnel has now been expanded as part of the northern railway line as a cycle and footpath and can be used day and night with LED lighting.
