Dorper sheep.

The Dorper sheep is a breed of sheep originating from South Africa that was bred in the 1930s from the Dorset Horn and the Blackhead Persian (see Somali sheep ).

The Dorper got its name from the initials of the two output races ( Dor set Horn and Blackhead Per sian). The aim was to breed a breed that was better adapted to the arid climate of the region. It is a fast growing, meat producing, undemanding sheep.
