Douze is a French company that makes cargo bikes . The name Douze (French: twelve) can be traced back to the first public presentation of the company's first model on December 12, 2012.

Models and possible uses

All of the manufacturer's models are single-track, which means they drive on two wheels and the loading area is between the front wheel and the handlebars. Cargo bikes of this type are also called Long Johns and were already in use in the 1920s. In recent years, cargo bikes of this type have made a comeback, as they are particularly suitable for longer journeys and a faster and more sporty driving style. The company offers two frame models. The Messenger has a curved top tube, the Traveler has a deep step-through.

In addition, the V2 series wheels can be divided using a special quick release. Douze cargo bikes are steered by means of a cable steering, which makes it possible to turn the front wheel over 75 degrees to the right or left. Cable steering allows a smaller turning circle than with steering systems using a handlebar that were customary up to that point. Douze said it was the first manufacturer to bring this type of steering onto the market in 2012.
