Dread is a Reddit- like Darknet discussion forum with an uncensored exchange of opinions and discussions on topics of the Darknet, Darknet markets , drugs and IT security. The website's system administrator is called HugBunter .

history

Dread is a popular community site that followed the seized Deep Dot Web as a news site for discussions on drugs, law enforcement, darknet markets, and fraud . The site gained some prominence in 2018 after Reddit banned several discussion groups on darknet markets. Within three months of its introduction, 12,000 registered users were counted; in June 2018 there were 14,683 users.

In September 2019, after about a week of maintenance, the HugBunter dead man's switch was activated.

activities

In May 2019, a Wall Street Market moderator sent his hidden IP address to Dread, which resulted in an exit scam and seizure shortly thereafter. Sometimes stolen data is sold through Dread. The closure of Dream Market was announced on Dread. Major denial-of-service attacks were launched against Dread and other markets that exploited a vulnerability in the Tor protocol.
