Dreigräben near Szprotawa in Poland

Dreigräben , Polish Wały Śląskie , is the name of the system of three (also two and one) parallel earth walls and ditches from the Middle Ages in Lower Silesia , Poland . The length of the well-preserved trains is about 30 km in total, the height about 2.5 m, the width 18 to 47 m (with the three-walled shape).

This Landwehr was described as early as 1874.

The report from the research carried out by the Muzeum Ziemi Szprotawskiej under the direction of Maciej Boryna in the years 2000 to 2006 mainly points to the border, traffic and customs role of the Dreigräben. This facility was built in the 15th century, but certain trains could have been built earlier and later. The Dreigräben line was the southwestern border of the Duchy of Glogau .
