Driscoll’s is the world's largest strawberry producer. In 1944, several farmers founded the Strawberry Institute of California . In 1953 the Driscoll Strawberry Associates cooperative was founded. In 1966 the two merged to form Driscoll’s .

Driscoll's does not grow strawberries itself, but packs and markets the fruit from affiliated farmers. The company also grows and propagates the strawberry plants. The market share in the USA is estimated at 34%.
