Drumanagh ( Irish Droim Meánach ) is an Irish Promontory Fort that was placed under protection in 1994 . It is located near Haystown in County Fingal north of Dublin on a privately owned plateau over the Irish Sea . There is also a Martello tower on the peninsula .

On the headland of Drumanagh lie the remains of Ireland's largest Promontory Fort. The complex is approximately 10.0 hectares and is protected on three sides by high cliffs. On the west side, a system of high walls delimits the entire width of the promontory.

Drumanagh has not been excavated. It is believed that it was used in the late Bronze and early Iron Ages . Aerial photographs show a number of outlines taken from buildings or enclosures . Since artifacts of Roman origin have been found on the plateau, there is an extensive literature with speculation that the Romans coming from Britain had a base here. From an archaeological point of view, an occupation by Roman troops or the establishment of a trading post cannot yet be proven. The presence of the Romans in Ireland is also unproven in literary terms.
