The Dubielpark is a listed park north of the center of Zabrze (German: Hindenburg OS ). Before 1945 it was known as the city or Skagerrakpark. To the north flows the Beuthen water.

history

The Dubielpark was built on an undeveloped area from 1924 to 1930. In 1930 it was redesigned as planned. The park was designed by the German landscape architect Gustav Allinger (1891–1974) in collaboration with Fritz Berckling. In addition to a large park meadow, a paddling pool and a ball court were also created, which could be used as an ice rink in winter. In 1934 it was named “Skagerrakpark” in memory of the Skagerrak Battle. On June 4th, 1939 the memorial of the navy and colonial troops consisting of a granite block and an anchor was unveiled.

After 1945 the city park was renamed "Poległych Bohaterów". In the 1950s, the canal at the park was filled in. Since the political change of 1989 it has been called “Park przy ul. Dubiela” or “Park Dubiela” for short. In 2012 it was registered as a cultural monument.
