  • In the vicinity of Dubravica ("Orasje") an excavation is currently taking place, during which ancient wall remains have been uncovered. Using ancient sources, scientists were able to locate the Aurelian Municipium Margum in this area. First excavations between 1947 and 1949 and a second excavation campaign in 1989 and 1990 confirmed this assumption. Systematic excavations have been taking place since 2004, carried out by the Pozarevac National Museum. Margum, together with the Trajan colony of Ratiaria (Arcar in Moesia Superior), is the only example of the founding of cities on the right bank of the Danube, in the immediate vicinity of which there was no legionary camp.
