Duktus is a group of companies that develops, manufactures and markets systems made of ductile cast iron for water transport. The company goes back to Buderus AG , which was founded in 1731 .
The first cast iron pipe was cast on December 18, 1901 in Wetzlar in a newly established foundry, the Sophienhütte. The Sophienhütte in Wetzlar, Germany, is still the company's central production location today.
In April 2010, the group of companies, which in addition to the Wetzlar location also includes sales companies in the Czech Republic and the United Arab Emirates, gave itself the new name Duktus, which is closely related to the product (pipe systems (Latin: ductus) made of ductile cast iron).
Duktus has been part of vonRoll infratec AG, Switzerland, since February 2016.
Duktus employs over 300 people and generates sales of around 100 million euros.
The development focus of Duktus is on the worldwide expansion of the system business with innovative, high quality products for infrastructures of water supply and disposal as well as for industrial applications.
Duktus is a member of the German Water Partnership, the Guss-Rohrsysteme (FGR / EADIPS), the German Association for Gas and Water and the German Association for Water Management, Sewage and Waste .
