Duple dominant
The name Duple Dominant refers to a bus body made by the British manufacturer Duple Coachbuilders . The superstructures were manufactured from 1972 to 1982.
The structure was a steel structure. In the first version, later called Dominant I , the front and rear windows were the same height as the side windows. In the Dominant II version , which was manufactured from 1976 , the front window was higher and the rear window flat. Rectangular headlights were also used. In the Dominant III versions , the side windows had the shape of a parallelogram, in the Dominant IV version they were again rectangular. The Duple Goldliner was a high-roof version of the Dominant III or IV . Together with the Panorama Elite and the Supreme from Plaxton , they were the ubiquitous bus models in Great Britain in the 1970s. Some buses with a Dominant body are currently still in use in public transport on the island of Malta .
The body was used on chassis from various British and foreign companies:
- Albion Viking EVK55CL

- Bedford YRQ, YRT, YMT
- Bristol LH
- DAF MB
- Ford R1014, R1114
