Duplex (centering unit)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A duplex is an additional plane of sight for rear sight sights .

The original rear sight sight consists of a rear sight with an iris and a front sight . The duplex extends the line of sight by a further centering plane or an intermediate iris. By using a duplex, aiming errors due to unintentional displacement of the front sight tunnel in the target image are almost completely eliminated.
