Through freight train

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A through freight train (abbreviation Dg ) is a freight train that runs from the start to the destination station continuously (hence the name) in the same composition. It is not dealt with in terms of shunting technology at intermediate stations and is usually a single-group train. In through freight trains, in addition to freight between marshalling yards, mainly bulk goods were transported, which are transported in large quantities on fixed routes, for example coal and ores from ports to power stations and steelworks .

The trains with only one freight are usually referred to as block trains .
