Lead time scheduling

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In production planning and control, lead time scheduling is the calculation of order dates based on the start date ( forward scheduling ) and / or the end date ( backward scheduling ) without taking into account capacity limits . Forward and backward scheduling corresponds to forward planning or backward planning in network planning . The time that an order needs to complete is called the lead time .

In contrast to lead time scheduling, capacity scheduling takes the capacity limits into account.
