Dysmetria is a disorder of voluntary movement processes, especially when the cerebellum and associated conduction pathways are damaged in the context of cerebellar ataxia . Incorrect programming of movement sequences results in movements that are either set too short ( hypometry ) or overshoot the target ( hypermetry ) (reaching wrong).
