The European Law Adaptation Act Construction (EAG Bau), in the full title law for adapting the building code to EU directives , dated June 24, 2004 as an article law has changed some laws relevant to building law, such as the building code .

The EAG Bau served to implement Directive 2001/42 / EC of the European Parliament and the Council on the assessment of the environmental impact of certain plans and programs ( strategic environmental assessment or plan environmental assessment - PlanUP) as well as Directive 2003/35 / EC on public participation in developing certain environmental plans and programs . The result of the change in the building code was, in particular, the introduction of the environmental assessment in the land-use planning and thus a fundamental change in the regulations on the preparation of the land-use plans.
