EBC (telecommunications)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

EBC is a billing model for the telecommunications industry . The abbreviation is an abbreviation for element based charging . This model was developed by the Federal Network Agency in consultation with Deutsche Telekom AG and City-Carriern ( telephone providers for a specific city region). The settlement after the utilized network elements is in contrast to DBC distance based charging , to be paid after removal. This tariff model enables competitive cooperation between Deutsche Telekom AG and the city carriers.

Deutsche Telekom AG may determine a maximum of 475 catchment areas in its network in which all fixed-line customers must be covered. The respective tariff can be determined based on the correspondence of interconnection points between competitors and Deutsche Telekom AG . He gets the lowest tariff if he has interconnection points in all 475 areas. From 23 interconnected areas, he can reach all participants in the second tariff level single transit . The highest tariff, Double Transit , applies in the remaining cases with fewer than 23 areas. The contract came into force on June 1, 2001.
