EHI approved online shop

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

EHI certified online shop is a protected seal of approval (EHI seal) for online shops , which is awarded by the EHI Retail Institute GmbH . The EHI seal examines online shops on the basis of a criteria catalog with over 200 different evaluation criteria.

history

The EHI seal was awarded for the first time in 1999 by the EHI as the first seal of approval for German online trading. Over 650 online shops have now been certified. Almost 50% of the 100 online shops with the highest turnover in Germany carry the EHI seal. These generate around 11.5 billion euros in pure online sales.

The Bundesverband E-Commerce und Versandhandel Deutschland eV (bevh) has been an exclusive certification partner for the EHI seal since 2005 . Its members receive the special co-branding seal of approval "bevh / EHI Geprüfter Online-Shop". Other partners also include other associations, law firms, agencies, providers of shop software and payment solutions as well as online marketplaces.

EHI Geprüfter Online-Shop has also been a board member of the European eCommerce & Omni-Channel Trade Association (EMOTA) since 2014. Since 2015, it has been issuing the European online quality seal European Trust Mark, which certifies shops in accordance with national and European legal requirements. Since then, bearers of the EHI seal and the bevh-EHI seal have also been entitled to use the EMOTA seal.

Certification process

The examination of an online shop is divided into five steps. This included the exams:

  • the legal texts (terms and conditions, cancellation policy, data protection declaration, legal customer information, provider identification, etc.).
  • the product presentation.
  • the pre- and post-contractual mandatory information.
  • the legally compliant use of tracking tools such as B. Google Analytics.

In addition, the secure data transfer during the ordering process, the secure use of social media plugins, e-mail marketing and the user-friendliness and optimization potential to improve transparency and the conversion rate are checked. Test orders are also carried out to ensure a smooth shopping experience for the consumer.

In addition to certification, other additional services such as customer ratings, complaint management and legal text templates are also offered.

registration

The online shop registers for testing at www.ehi-siegel.de, specifying the domain and other data. In addition to certification, other product functions can be booked as required.

Shop examination

After a detailed check of the shop based on the catalog of criteria, a detailed and individual test protocol with optimization potential and specifications is handed over to the operator of the online shop after a maximum of 10 working days.

optimization

The online shop is revised as required based on the test protocol. A personal contact person from EHI accompanies this process to provide support with implementation and with critical questions.

Final inspection

After the optimization potentials and specifications have been implemented, the online shop is checked again by an EHI expert. If all requirements have been successfully met, the shop can be awarded the “EHI Geprüfter Online-Shop” seal of approval.

Award of seal

Once the certification has been completed, the shop operator is entitled to include the “EHI Geprüfter Online Shop” seal of approval in his online shop. This can be done via a simple picture of the EHI seal, or via the EHI widget, which shows the customer the valid certification and further information about the shop directly.
