The EN 60601-2-21 with the title "Medical electrical equipment - Part 2-21: Special stipulations for the safety of baby warmers" is part of the EN 60601 series of standards .

The standard is based on the international version IEC 60601-2-21. Within the framework of the VDE standards, the standard is classified as VDE 0750-2-21 , see DIN-VDE standards part 7 .

This supplementary standard regulates general requirements for the safety, tests and guidelines for baby heaters.

The German edition of 12.1995 has been adopted as a German standard from 6.1999 .

These special specifications apply to baby warmers. Specifications for infant warmers for use outside the area of ​​a hospital infant care station, infant warmers with a warming mat and infant warmers that are fed with an internal power supply are not covered by this standard.
